Rocio Gonzalez
Welcome! My name is Rocio but friends and family know me as Rosie. I am based in Fort Worth, Texas. I am a military spouse, a domestic engineer and mother of two!
I'm an ambitious UX designer and a Bootcamp Grad through Springboard's UX/UI Design Career track program. My journey into design began when I was making Quinceanera invitations for my family. I became the go-to person for designing visually creative graphics. I eagerly pursued User experience design after discovering how passionate I am about connecting people through technology. May 2023, I participated in my first UX fellowship with USAA through their military spouse program. I successfully improved and the company's user retention during a transformational period for the bank's Agile portfolio team. Validating my passion for user experiences with such a wonderful company was a pivotal moment in my career as a designer.
Since then, I have been actively involved in the design industry, as an independent designer and student. I have decided to pursue my bachelor's in software engineering at my local community college, Tarrant County College. Throughout my journey, I have freelanced as a brand and web designer for local businesses. These opportunities allowed me to broaden my expertise and deliver impactful solutions. I have dedicated myself to honing my skills, engaging in design challenges, participating in design communities, and advocating for AI with other fellow students.
When I'm not designing, I enjoy volunteering at my local library as a Spanish translator. I am also a member of Hiring our Heroes military spouse support group. Being a participant of Hiring our Heroes is a community close to my heart as a military spouse.
I am passionate about actively participating my community and local events to bring others together. whether it's seeking advice, emotional support;
Being a part of my local community and serving as a neighborhood advocate has created a strong support system in my personal life.
